Our Philosophy

Experience is everything.

“Kizuna” is a Japanese word and it means ‘Bond’ in English. It is the connections between humans. People definitely have it, and  that’s why we’re born into this world..

For example, I had a best friend called Shiota who lived next door to me. We went to school together everyday for 12 years. We did everything together.

My Belgian friend posted this picture on my Facebook.

She wanted to know what was written and it said「絆のお守り」 it means amulet of bonds.

The next morning, I received a phone call from one of my best friends who I’ve known since I was 3 years old and he said,

Shiota has passed away…

I thought the kizuna amulet was the last thing he left for me and started to think about the meaning of this unbelievable story.

May to December 2018

While traveling around Asia, I lost my wallet in Jakarta airport on the way to Palu Indonesia to volunteer after the Sulawesi Earthquake and Tsunami on  September 28, 2018. My return flight was a week later and I only had about 15USD on me.

I was worried that I’ll become homeless and need to live for a week without money. So the only one thing I could do was silly things to cheer myself up like this !!

Finally a Japanese family helped me and took me to eat local food and let me stay at their home for the night. They even lent me some money.

I appreciated it a lot.. thank you !!

I wanted to help others, but after all, I needed help again… so I could go to Palu to cheer them up !! I made many friends and had an unforgettable experience there. And they changed my view of life.

Not all stories can be written here but I made a lot of Kizuna on this trip!!

They made me realize the importance of having fulfilling experiences without spending money and that if people could help each other across borders easier, a better world could be created. Then I had an idea how to express these experiences to people and how to help people to have similar experiences..

That’s Kizuner.

We opened a company called Kizuner in the US to expand our thoughts all over the world. Now the world is undergoing big changes… A.I. Experts say “Automation could replace 40% of jobs in the next 15 years. The gap between the rich and poor is growing fast. Also, the earth is getting more polluted everyday.

We are believing what needed in this world now is Kizuna..
